Emerging Coronavirus (COVID-19) and handling shipments!

Due to the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) which has become a global epidemic, and with the escalation of the infection, tension and anxiety escalated, many concerns appeared to everyone, many questions were asked strongly, and one of the most important of these questions was: can the new Coronavirus be transmitted by shipments, parcels, and mail items from one country to another?
The new Coronavirus appeared in December 2019 in the Chinese city of Wuhan. According to reports, the most likely cause of this virus being transmitted to humans was by animals. The virus is considered one of the “coronaviruses” that causes common cold diseases, more severe diseases such as MERS, and acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the primary symptoms of the virus are very similar to the symptoms of influenza and the subsequent cough, fever and inflammation of the respiratory system, and symptoms develop into shortness and difficulty in breathing, and in severe cases, infection can cause acute pneumonia and kidney failure ending in death.
With regard to the possibility of the virus transmitting through shipments, parcels and items, it must first be known that the Coronavirus is transmitted from an infected person to a healthy person through exposure to body fluids through sneezing, coughing or direct contact with the patient, and the virus can also be transmitted to a healthy person after touching the objects the infected person touches, and reports confirm that the new Coronavirus needs close contact between the infected person and the healthy one in order to transmit and cause the disease. Reports also indicate that the virus needs to stay in a living environment in order to cause the disease, and will not be able to withstand more than hours in a non-living environment, that is, it loses its risk if it is suspended on surfaces for more than hours, while shipments, postal parcels and items between countries need at least a week in the process of shipping and transportation, and China has confirmed that it is carrying out a purge of all parcels coming out of its borders as an additional precautionary measure to limit the spread the disease.
According to these information, Tabseer reassures its customers that all imported shipments and goods are completely safe, as the virus cannot be transmitted through cargo shipments because it needs a live (incubator) host, and otherwise it dies within hours due to the lack of a suitable environment in which to live, and therefore all your shipments are safe and not transferable.
If you are having difficulty importing and conforming your products via “Saber” electronic platform – any shipments that do not have registered certificates in “Saber” electronic platform are suspended after applying the mandatory registration of consumer products subject to the technical regulations, where it became necessary to issue the required conformity certificates and product registration via Saber electronic platform to avoid delay in clearing shipments – you can now use Tabseer services as an official accredited body from the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality (SASO) to provide conformity certificates services (CoC) and grant the Gulf Conformity Mark (G-mark) to all Low voltage electrical appliances and equipment according to the technical regulations approved by the authority, accredited body according to the international standard ISO / IEC 17065: 2012 for the requirements of certification bodies for products, processes and services from the Gulf Accreditation Center (GAC), and registered with the Gulf Cooperation Council Standardization Organization (GSO) to provide services of granting the Gulf Conformity Mark (G-Mark) for low voltage electrical appliances and equipment according to the technical regulations of the authority that is compulsory in the Gulf Cooperation Council states for imported and domestic products.
