SFDA Launches Drug Innovation Conference

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has launched the Drug Innovation Conference at its headquarters in Riyadh, coinciding with World Creativity and Innovation Day. The event witnessed the participation of key representatives from relevant ministries, universities, and research centres.
 
Attending entities included the Ministries of Health, Industry, and Investment, the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, the Research and Development Authority, King Saud University, and the National Institute for Health Research, all reaffirming the conference’s importance in shaping the future of pharmaceutical innovation locally and globally.
 
Conference sessions address several critical topics, including the supportive role of government authorities in pharmaceutical innovation, the development of pharmaceuticals, the integration of artificial intelligence in therapeutic discovery, regulatory frameworks and clinical considerations for innovative treatments, and initiatives led by the World Health Organization (WHO).
 
The event is part of SFDA’s ongoing efforts to foster research and innovation and aligns with its strategic vision to be a global leader in pharmaceutical safety and quality.
