Saudi Arabia Secures Key Memberships in Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries, Reaffirming Global Leadership in Standardization

In a significant achievement confirming its global leadership in the field of standardization, Saudi Arabia has won memberships in the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) and the Standardization and Accreditation Boards of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for the 2025-2027 term.

This prestigious accomplishment further strengthens the Kingdom’s role in advancing quality and specifications at both regional and international levels.
 
Following a successful vote during the 2024 meetings of the SMIIC, Saudi Arabia secured positions on the Board of Directors (SMIIC/BoD), the Standardization Management Board (SMC), and the Accreditation Council (AC). The Kingdom obtained a majority of votes, a testament to its influence and contributions to the Institute’s mission.
 
This achievement underscores Saudi Arabia’s active role in fostering cooperation and trade among Islamic countries, as well as its commitment to harmonizing standards, enhancing product quality, and improving service excellence across member states.
