SABER Launches Updates to HS Codes
Starting January 1, 2025, the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) will update several customs items on the SABER electronic platform. This is in accordance with the amendments issued by the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA).
These updates aim to enhance the efficiency of customs operations, ensure alignment with both international and local developments, and enhance the user experience for manufacturers and importers. The updates will provide accurate and clear HS Codes to streamline the procedures for product registration and the issuance of necessary certificates of conformity.
The Authority emphasized the importance of suppliers and local manufacturers staying updated on the new HS Codes to ensure their products comply with regulatory and technical requirements. In addition, it encouraged all stakeholders to review the updated guidelines through the Authority’s website and the SABER platform, which offers comprehensive services for product registration and conformity certificate verification.
