His Excellency the Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, Dr. Saad Al-Qasabi, headed the Kingdom’s delegation at the 59th meeting of the Technical Council of the GCC Standardization Organization in Doha. During the meeting, several decisions and recommendations were approved to support standardization activities in Member States.

GSO plays a crucial role in developing and standardizing specifications across the region through cooperation with national, regional, and international bodies.

Its efforts have led to the development of over 28,000 standard specifications across various sectors, products, and services, contributing to the achievements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strengthening trade and competitiveness.

The Saudi Standards Organization and the Gulf Standardization Organization are both keeping up with technological advancements by implementing digital transformation programs. They are also working on developing standard specifications that align with the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
