Adoption of 10 New Gulf Technical Regulations and Withdrawal of 6 Regulations for Several Goods

The Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (GCC) held its 8th meeting last Thursday, October 31, 2024, in the Qatari Capital, Doha. The meeting was headed by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Trade and Industry of the State of Qatar, Chairman of the current session.

It was attended by committee members, Ministers of Commerce and Industry responsible for standardization affairs in the GCC countries, and Eng. Nawaf Ibrahim Al-Mana. President of the Standardization Organization for the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GSO)

During the meeting, about (10) new Gulf technical regulations were adopted, and (6) regulations for several goods were withdrawn, in addition to approving the Authority’s budget for the fiscal year 2025.

His Excellency Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), pointed out that the total number of approved Gulf standards and technical regulations has reached more than 27,600.
