Requirements for Registering Food Products on the Ghad Platform
Step 1: Create a Business Account on the Ghad Platform
To list a food product on the Ghad Platform, the importer must first create a business account with the SFDA’s Ghad system.
The requirements for opening a business account include:
- A Commercial Registration (CR) that includes an economic activity related to food products.
- A copy of the Ministry of Investment license (required for foreign or joint-venture companies).
- An authorization letter certified by the Chamber of Commerce for the person responsible for submitting and following up on applications through the unified electronic system.
Step 2: Register Food Products on the Ghad Platform
The following information and documents are required to register food products on the platform:
- Product name in Arabic
- Customs tariff code
- Shelf life
- Storage temperature
- Country of production
- Name of the manufacturing company
A complete product label image must also be provided, showing the required information in Arabic along with any other language, including:
- Brand name
- Barcode
- Ingredients
- Type of packaging
- Country of origin
- Storage conditions
Faseh Platform and Food Product Clearance Requirements
The Faseh Platform is an electronic system launched by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority to simplify the clearance process for cosmetic and food products entering the Kingdom.
The platform is integrated with the Ghad system, allowing importers to easily select their registered products when submitting clearance requests.
The requirements for submitting a request through the Faseh platform include:
- A certified commercial invoice issued from the country of shipment, including batch numbers or product expiry dates
- The bill of lading
- Identification of the port of entry into Saudi Arabia
- Selection of the products listed on the invoice, including their quantities and batch numbers
- Selection of an approved conformity assessment body to issue the certificate of conformity
