Gahd SFDA Food Registration

Gahd SFDA Food Registration

The Ghad Platform was developed to regulate the import, distribution, and marketing of food products within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. According to the applicable regulations, food products must be listed and registered on the platform before they can be imported into the Saudi market.

What is the SFDA Ghad Platform?

The Ghad Platform is an electronic system launched by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) to register imported food products, warehouses, and food manufacturing facilities within the Kingdom.
Through this platform, companies can officially list their food products with the authority responsible for regulating food products in Saudi Arabia.

Mandatory Registration of Food Products on the Ghad Platform

Registration on the Ghad Platform is mandatory for all companies intending to import food products into Saudi Arabia. Food products must be listed on the platform before they can be imported into the Kingdom, and no food product can enter the market unless it is registered under the Saudi importer’s account on the Ghad Platform.
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority is responsible for monitoring and verifying the safety of food products circulating in the Saudi market. As part of its regulatory responsibilities, the authority oversees the listing of food products and continuously develops the procedures and electronic systems used for product registration.
Companies are therefore required to register their food products with the SFDA, whether these products are imported from abroad or manufactured locally within the Kingdom. This process is completed by submitting the required documentation through the Ghad system, which enables companies to register both food products and food manufacturing facilities.
